Position Summary
Under supervision, the Department Operations Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and providing support for the Director, Chief Administrative Officer, and multiple levels of faculty administration within the department. This includes serving as the administrative manager in the development and institution of the Cancer Center External and Internal Advisory Boards. They will manage and coordinate the Director and invited guests’ travel and special presentations, prepare agendas and minutes for programmatic and administrative meetings, and, maintain a records management system in accordance with administrative policies.
The selected candidate will also coordinate all department social media, public relations events, and other special projects as assigned by the Director of External Affairs. They will work closely with the Cancer Center’s public relations team to coordinate the creation of Cancer Center pamphlets, PR materials, news blasts, and other promotional materials. The incumbent is expected to build relationships and resolve problems with other agencies while working as a liaison on the department’s behalf.
