Specifically seeking an MA to work with Doctors that specialize in MOHS, Plastic Surgery, or other Dermatology treatments. Candidates with previous experience in Dermatology or Surgery, or that have EMA by ModMed experience, will be prioritized. Candidates that have their CMA, CCMA, CDT, etc. will be prioritized.

Thomas Dermatology is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team! Candidates should be experienced in basic medical and cosmetic dermatology. Candidates with surgery, MOHS, or plastics experience preferred. We are willing to train the right candidate that has prior surgery or excision experience. Any M.A. with an amazing personality, the desire to be a team player and the ability to learn quickly will be moved to the top of the list! All candidates should be skilled at providing safe, knowledgeable, compassionate care to all patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess and coordinate patient care
• Room patients, provide education on procedures and review informed consent
• Document patient assessment, visit notes, procedural reports, and other communication and health information through EMA
• Ensure that charts contain all necessary documentation (i.e. consent forms, lab reports, etc.)
• Assist surgeon with patient care, surgical excisions, procedures, repairs, biopsies, and education
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician
• Provide post-surgery patient care including educating patient on home-care instructions, applying pressure bandages, performing wound checks, removing sutures, and following up on patients by phone or in the clinic as needed
• Communicate with collaborating physicians to coordinate patient care
• Accept phone calls from patients and respond to emergency situations
• Uphold a culture of high-quality medical care and a supportive work environment
• Perform other duties that may be necessary to assist in patient care

Qualifications

• Dermatology or surgical experience is required
• Graduate of an approved medical assisting program preferred
• Dermatology, cosmetic, medical, or surgical experience is required
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work well on a team and as a leader
• Clinically and technically competent
• Detail-oriented, professional attitude, reliable
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

We have three different locations in Las Vegas and Henderson, but this position will mostly take place at our Post Road location. Occasional travel between locations may be required.

Centennial Hills location- 6170 N Durango Dr Ste 140, Las Vegas, NV 89149

Post Road location- 9097 W Post Rd #100, Las Vegas, NV 89148

Henderson location- 866 Seven Hills Dr #201, Henderson, NV 89052

• Have you graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program?
• Are you an actively credentialed Medical Assistant? If so, what are your credentials? (This is not the same as graduating from a Medical Assistant program)
• Are you available to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 7am to 5pm? (Shifts are usually 8 hours)

Experience:

• Surgery: 1 year (Preferred)
• Dermatology: 1 year (Preferred)
• EMA by ModMed: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA, etc) (Preferred)
• Dermatology Technician Certificate (Preferred)
