Description:

This position is primarily an onsite required role in Dodgeville, WI, with flexibility of being a hybrid role over time of up to 1 day/week. The primary needs of the role are in hands on equipment setup/configuration, shipping/receiving user devices and gear from remote staff, and providing second level support for issues not solvable by the Service Desk team (or that require physical support). A can-do spirit, and collaborative approach to troubleshooting and team or user engagement is expected.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 years of help desk or desktop/deskside support or a combination of
  • Provide Level 2 desktop support through remote solutions
  • Intermediate troubleshooting and repair of Windows 10 Pro/Enterprise, and Windows 10 IoT
  • Intermediate troubleshooting and repair of MacOS devices
  • Intermediate understanding and troubleshooting of hardware: including Windows and Mac desktops and laptops, mobile devices, printers and scanners, VoIP and standard phones, monitors, and audio/visual and conferencing devices.
  • Proficient knowledge of software such as MS Office Suite 2013 – O365, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint.
  • Basic understanding of Citrix, VMWare, VDI solutions and concepts
  • Familiarity with Azure services, cloud services/technologies, and general networking is beneficial
  • Intermediate experience with RDP, Teamviewer, and other remote device management solutions
  • Ability to do installs, replacements, or removals for the hardware and software classes mentioned.
  • Interact with end-users at all levels of the organization
  • Able to adapt to rapidly changing work situations and grasp/apply new ideas quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory and SCCM concepts and management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately record, update, and document all work using Servicenow – experience with other enterprise-scale ITSM platforms is acceptable
  • Assist team in developing and maintaining support or user documentation as necessary
  • Maintain asset inventory records for tracked user or datacenter/closet hardware
  • Configure, install, manage, and troubleshoot standard hardware and software
  • Be forward thinking, looking for ways to increase productivity, efficiency, and process

Beneficial Certifications (none required):

  • HDI Desktop Support Technician Certification (or equivalent)
  • HDI Technical Support Professional Certification (or equivalent)
  • ITIL Foundations Certification
  • A+, Network+, Security+ Certification(s)
  • Microsoft MCP, MCSE, MOS, Modern Desktop, or other Microsoft certifications
  • Apple Certified Technician or Jamf 100-300

We are looking for a candidate who can pick up daily operational support work so that existing team can focus more attention on critical projects that need to be accomplished this fall.

While onboarding/training will be needed to some extent, team and leaders will not be able to devote focused attention to a lengthy onboarding process. This is why we are looking for someone with sufficient experience and confidence that they can engage quickly, ask questions, shadow others well, and be productive quickly.
