Principal Responsibilities

  • Model the organization’s values and provide effective motivation, encouragement, and accountability for all members of the workforce.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the organizational strategic plan including the criteria for fundraising development and growth.
  • Works in partnership with the Business Manager and Executive Director, to create a fundraising work plan designed to increase fundraising revenue from corporate, foundation and individual donors.
  • Improves program development efforts (applications, grants) to refine and improve the agency’s overall approach and strategy for growth and development.
  • Manages all grants, reporting for grants, and close outs. Must be organized and timely.
  • Attends agency donor relations activities through the preparation for and participation in key meetings with current and prospective funders and donors.
  • Collaborates to identify needs for funding requests, identify potential funders, and develop applications/proposals for submission.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of a robust donor stewardship and recognition program, with a focus on retaining donors and increasing year over year support.

Necessary Skills & Experience:

  • Professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, development and fundraising required,
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or related field required. Can be substituted with additional years of professional experience.
  • Leadership abilities and strategic thinking to create, share and implement a larger vision to be able to attain the organization’s long-range plan.
  • Ability to listen and communicate clearly, effectively and persuasively at all levels of the organization, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability and political savvy to build and sustain relationships with many constituencies, both internal and external, including government agencies, media, affiliates colleagues, and funding sources. Ability to network with other organizations and leaders to build strategic alliances.
  • Knowledge and experience in successful fundraising.
  • Keen analytic, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities that support and enable sound decisions in a complex organization. Ability to support and explain reasoning for decisions. Include appropriate people in decision-making process and ensure timely decisions are made
  • Strong professional ethics, integrity, and accountability in all actions including approaching others in a tactful manner; reacting well under pressure; treating others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepting responsibility for own actions; following through on commitments.
  • Demonstrates personal flexibility through continuous improvement, responsive to feedback and adaptable to different situations.
  • Must possess and maintain an acceptable, felony free record. Must possess and maintain a Alaska driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (must have own transportation) Must have car insurance.

This position will be open until filled.

Preferred:

· Bachelor Degree

· Excellent communication skills

· Experience with Donor Perfect and Design software

Compensation and Details:

  • Annual compensation
