We are searching for a DevOps Development Engineer to contribute to the successful design, coding, implementation and testing of our DevOps and delivery tools, solutions, and integrations. You’ll need to have applied development knowledge in programming interfaces, API’s, microservices and integrations between tools. As a DevOps Development Engineer , you’ll be working in conjunction with like-minded departments such as software engineering, to develop and use automated process and pipelines that the steps of IT delivery together from planning, code check-ins, through to deployment and change tracking. You’ll be hands on designing and creating solutions, as well as using them.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Source Code repository management (SCM) including branch management.

Designing and migrating deployment workflows and models.

Creating, administering, and maintaining automated solutions for:

Building code/compilation workflows and strategies

Packaging and Versioning with artifact management strategies

Integrating point solutions with other systems or data streams

System troubleshooting and problem solving across tools, platforms, and applications

Developing and implementing self-service workflows and controls

Creating and maintaining tools, integrations, extensions, plug-ins, solutions and microservices.

Participate, as assigned in configuring deployment/delivery pipeline solutions

Upgrade tools as required while implementing integrations.

Design, documenting, and developing automated solutions

Uphold and enforce DevOps Engineer team best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience required

4+ years of experience in a DevOps Development Engineer, Pipeline Engineer or similar role.

3+ years of applied scripting/programming experience with languages such as Java , Typescript, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby, Python , Groovy, Bash, YAML and React framework.

Experience in micro-service development is a plus.

Experience with build tools like Maven and Gradle a plus

2+ years of experience with at least one Deployment and Release orchestration toolsets (e.g. (Digital.ai, XebiaLabs, Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps, UrbanCode Deploy, Electric Cloud, etc.)

Deep knowledge of GIT

Strong experience with Windows and Linux-based infrastructure and administration.

Working knowledge and experience with container-based technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher etc.

Working knowledge and experience with database admin basics such as SQL and MySQL and/or Mongo.

Project management skills and experience with workflow tools and methodologies such as Agile, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, etc.

Experience and a working knowledge with Puppet, Chef and/or Ansible for automation and configuration, a plus.

Strong communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with team and management.

Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems.

Current with industry trends, IT ops and industry best practices. The ability and willingness to use that knowledge to drive innovative change.

Location:
This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
