Job description
Position Summary:
The Biomedical Technician is responsible for the proper maintenance and function of all medical equipment in the dialysis units; maintenance of an adequate inventory of medical treatment and supplies; and ensuring proper water and dialysis solution delivery to the dialysis machines, maintaining AAMI Standards of water treatment practice.
Essential Functions:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience repairing and maintaining dialysis machines
- Biomedical Engineering Technician certification preferred
- Ensure all equipment is functioning in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications
- Develop, schedule, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Ensure disinfection of water delivery system
- Collaborate to evaluate and recommend purchasing of new equipment and supplies
- Conduct emergency equipment repair when necessary
