Dwellside Care & Rehab (formerly Avista Healthcare) is looking for an experienced and passionate Full / Part time Cook to help support our team. The ideal candidate for this position has previous healthcare facility experience, capable of taking direction and can multi-task effectively.
Primary responsibility:
- Coordinate food preparation and meal service.
- Determine amount & type of food and supplies as required for daily menus.
- Monitor food temperatures (hot and cold) prior to meal service.
- Monitor methods of food handling
- Accountable for the quality of the meals prepared for each meal
- Clean equipment and work areas after food preparation.
- Supervise dietary staff in absence of Food Service Supervisor.
- Demonstrates the ability to set and establish priorities.
- Manages time efficiently.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards
Qualification:
- High school diploma/GED required
- 2+ years' experience as a Cook in the healthcare industry a plus
- Able to read and write English and follow standardized recipes
- Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
- Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere
- ServeSafe Certification preferred
- Able to stand for long periods of time and lift 50lbs without assistance
- Williing to work flexible schedule including; nights weekends and holidays
