What do you get to do in this position?

Responsibilities: This services architect will be responsible to support key activities for the Sales/Business Developement Management (BDM) team and the Operations/Applications Engineers.


Responsibilities towards BDM/Sales:

  • Increase accuracy and efficiency in creating architectures this also means an increase in quotation accuracy to execute projects on budget.
  • Support the region with budgetary architectures, which would be based on initial documents such as electrical distribution single-line diagrams, network diagrams, etc…
  • The Architect will manage the support request funnel for his/her region along with corresponding Digital BDM’s and Service Sales Enginers (SSE). Making sure every request for support is answered within a maximum time frame of 6 to 8 working days.
  • Support sales in performing site surveys to collect relevant site conditions and electrical distribution equipment data to create accurate technical solution proposals.
  • Be the technical warrant of the digital services capabilities in front of the customer.
  • Support sales in collecting and organizing all relevant technical and commercial documentation during the sales stage to have complete and reliable documentation when projects are transferred to execution.
  • Identify Architecture to Quotation to Execution Gaps and implement process improvements that support the long-term growth and scalability of the business.
  • Identify key technical gaps on the digital offers (hardware, communications, cybersecurity, etc…) that allow the organization to adapt and pivot to better serve our customers.

Responsibilities towards Operations/Applications Engineers.

  • Validation of site conditions and customer documentation for execution as projects approach PO Stage or Go into execution phase.
  • Eliminate site conditions uncertainty to ease up Field Service Rep/App Eng on-site work. The architect will be directly measured against successful project execution by the project management team and the impact in project margin preservation.
  • This position requires travel of up to 50% of the time.
  • The Architect will be responsible to attend the internal kick off meetings and deliver to the Asset Advisor Project Manager/Application Engineer a comprehensive project transfer package to the satisfaction of the operations team (hand over form, documentation, contacts, etc…).
  • Identify Sales to Execution to Customer Service Hub gaps and process improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Electrical Power Distribution Systems knowledge (MV, LV)
  • Very strong knowledge on communication protocols like IEC 61850, Modbus, RSTP, DNP3
  • Strong experience designing substation automation network architectures
  • Strong experience designing substation Electrical Power Monitoring Systems
  • Strong and proven experience dealing with SCADA Systems from Schneider Electric (PME, PSO, PACiS) and/or third party like SEL, GE Enervista, etc.
  • Protection Relay experience with brands like SEL, Siemens, GE
  • Proven Project Management experience and understanding of the PM role, requirements and typical PM issues when executing solutions
  • Proven cross functional team leadership
  • Strong experience interfacing with execution teams so to understand and anticipate the typical problems the engineering teams run into when executing solutions that involve, hardware, communications, software, etc.
  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering

Other desired aspects:

  • OT/IT background including Cybersecurity knowledge
  • Knowledge of Dry-type and liquid-filled power distribution transformers MV/MV MV/LV.
