Job summary:
The Dining Room Lead directs, instructs and supervises all waitstaff personnel. THey are responsible for directing the operation in the dining room and related services in the kitchen. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Culinary Services and the Director of Culinary Services.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet residents and guests and direct them to the tables in a courteous manner
  • Checking frequently that procedures are being followed
  • Assist waitstaff in their duties when problems arise
  • Be responsible for maintaining all work area in a clean and sanitary condition
  • Be aware that all tray delivery tickets are properly completed and accounted for
  • Ensure that waitstaff adhere to their work schedules and proper break periods
  • Maintain a quiet and orderly dining room at all times
  • Provide front desk with missed meals list within 1/2 hour after the end of each meal
  • Use closing checklist to ensure cleanliness
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Must be courteous to the residents and staff
  • Must be neat and clean
  • Must demonstrate leadership and supervisory capabilities
  • Must be aware of the condition of the equipment in the dining area
  • Must be able to train new waitstaff
  • Knowledge of directing and smooth-running dining room operations
  • Background experience related to this position
  • Weekend and dinner availability required
