Dining Support Manager
OVERALL FUNCTION:
Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, the Dining Support Manager is responsible for management and operational support of multiple Dining Service units. The Dining Support Manager’s main responsibilities will be to provide managerial coverage and operational support for Dining operations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Dining Support Managers will be assigned for short term management coverage of Dining units due to vacations or manager vacancy. While providing unit coverage, Support Managers will be responsible for following all company guidelines from the Dining Manager responsibilities. Coverage will be prioritized and assigned by the Regional Directors.
- When not providing managerial coverage for Dining units, Support Managers will work with the Regional Directors to implement strategic initiatives for Dining services such as menu enhancements, promotions, and marketing and training programs.
- Support Managers, when not providing unit coverage, will be assigned to complete operational audits of Dining units and will report findings to the Regional Director with suggested corrective measures.
- Support Managers will be responsible for assisting with special events such as new Dining unit openings, company meetings, catering support and charity events.
- Support Managers will assist in recruiting, interviewing, and training process for new Dining Managers while offering continued support and mentoring.
- While supporting Dining units, Support Managers are to maintain the highest level of service and communication with our customer contacts (clients). Monitoring sanitation and food handling practices of assigned Dining units and ensure staff compliance with established standards and local health department codes. Support Managers are required to maintain Serv Safe certification.
- Support Managers will assist with financial reporting to Regional Director of Operations to ensure that all financial reporting is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
- While supporting, Support Managers are responsible for ensuring that the Dining teams are providing the highest levels of customer service. Ensuring that the teams are engaging our customers with friendly and positive attitudes.
- Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Position requires the associate to travel heavily, be subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise. Position is exempt from overtime, involves long hours and widely diverse responsibilities.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Bachelor or Culinary Degree preferred
- 5 years of management experience in the foodservice industry
- Solid understanding of food preparation and quality
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to understand financial statements and take appropriate action to meet financial goals
- Problem analysis and problem solving at a functional and strategic level
