What you will be doing:
- Responsible for assisting the Director, Diplomatic & Business Travel Sales in establishing the presence and enhancing the image of The Fairmont Washington D.C., Georgetown & Fairmont Hotels & Resorts to all local Embassies
- Participate in the development and implementation of the annual Marketing Plan as it pertains to Embassy and Delegation business
- Consistently offers professional, engaging, and friendly service
- Research, identify, target relationships with new and existing Embassy accounts.
- Conduct sales calls to Embassy contacts to uncover new business
- Participate in client entertainment, either receptions, events or one on one appointments
- Respond to inquiries from established and prospective customers in the absence of Director, Diplomatic & Business Travel Sales
- Detail confirmed bookings, arrange for amenities, inspect guestrooms, draft internal communiques, follow up on requests, conduct meet and greets
- Collaborate with operational departments to ensure that new programs, services, amenities, etc. targeted to the Embassies are effective and assist in the further growth of the Embassy and Delegation Markets
- Prepare daily show rooms and conduct property site inspections
- Maintain current Sales and promotional literature and have a complete knowledge of hotel's services and facilities
- Assist with sales trip preparation to include trip itineraries, organizing and preparing collateral, creating presentations, preparing photos, giveaways, customer gifts and ship ahead to destinations.
- Work with Director, Diplomatic & Business Travel Sales in establishing and executing goals and monthly/quarterly/annual action plans related to the international market segments
Your experience and skills include:
- Two years of industry related experience in either sales business development, international relations markets
- Excellent presentation, writing skills, and computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite essential
- Must have strong interpersonal skills with attention to detail and organization is a must
- Self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision in a fast moving environment
Problem solver and ability to think “outside the box"
- Analytically strong with proven ability to demonstrate data interpretation
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of International Government Markets
