Second Shift (2:45 p.m. - 11:15 p.m.) and Third Shift (11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.) positions available, with every other weekend off. 12-hour positions may also be available.

Position Summary


These positions provide active treatment, promotes independence and choice, and implements the treatment programs per individual program plans in accordance with Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) regulations.

These positions provide assistance in all areas of each resident’s life such as hygiene, meals, recreational and/or vocational activities as well as support to achieve goals and independence and complies with ICF/IID regulations. These positions provide support for individuals with mental health and behavioral disorders as well as medical conditions.

Salary Information


Starting pay is $20.37* per hour.

A $0.80 night and $0.80 weekend differential are also available. Differential combines to $1.60 when working nights on the weekend. A $2000 sign-on bonus applies to those who do not have any prior state service in the last five years and must stay with SWC for a minimum of one year to retain the bonus. Bonus will be split, $1000 upon hire and $1000 after completing probation. These positions are classifiied as Resident Care Tehnician - Advanced. Pay schedule/range is 06/12. A 12-month probation is required.

  • A temporary $5.00 add-on is paid after training is completed and when providing direct care. The add-on is available through June 17, 2023.

Job Details

  • All applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.
  • All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
  • Employees are required to provide documentation of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by their start date. Exceptions will be granted to those who obtain an approved medical or religious accommodation or those who provide documentation requiring a delay in receiving the vaccine.
  • The physical requirements include but are not limited to lifting up to 55 lbs, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and balancing. Applicants are required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid WI CNA Certification OR experience providing direct support services to individuals with intellectual disabilities with mental health or behavioral disorders.
  • Must attend the required training full-time, Monday-Friday during the first 5 weeks of employment (only 1 week if a current WI CNA)
  • Must be willing and available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

In addition to the minimum requirements, well-qualified applicants will have:

  • Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience following individualized plans of care for patients or residents.
  • Experience working cooperatively with co-workers, supervisors, patients/residents, etc.
