- Job Role Description Job Description: We are looking for a responsible, caring, and compassionate direct support professional (DSP) to join our growing team. The ideal job candidate will be highly dependable and have a passion for helping those with physical and/or mental disabilities live a more fulfilled and happy life. Working one-on-one with each client, you will assess his/her needs and tend to them accordingly with the goal of fostering a positive, encouraging environment. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for fulfillment of our mission, vision, and values by demonstrating respect, and promoting a positive culture.
- Be a personal companion to your clients and act as a supportive friend serving their needs and working to build their independence.
- Encourage and foster individuals’ preferred hobbies and interests.
- Assist with and work to strengthen the individuals’ many daily living needs including but not limited to: nutrition, hygiene, exercise, and communication and socialization skills.
- Help track client progress, noting any drastic changes; report findings to supervisor.
- Drive clients to appointments, meetings, events, etc.
- Demonstrate awareness of all Individual Service Plans and special routines that are consistent with the goals and objectives of these plans.
- Develop meaningful relationships and connections with your clients to make them feel cared for and included in the community.
- Follow all health and safety protocols.
- Enhance the individual’s participation in community social activities and the growth of natural support when possible.
- Attend continuing education courses, training and get further certified as the job required.
- Ability to transport clients in your personal vehicle.
- Perform duties in a manner consistent with established ethical guidelines and maintain professional boundaries.
- Be a compassionate, patient and encouraging support professional at all times; you are a support, cheerleader and advocate rolled into one and your work can change the lives of many for the better.
Minimum Qualification include:
- Must be 18 High School Diploma or or GED
- CPR/AED/FA Certification (Will Train)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Current Proof of Auto Insurance
- Must be able to pass Criminal, OAC 5123:2-02-02, and Driving Background Checks
- Must be able to pass and maintain all certification and or training required by DODD
- Must be able to attend training as required.
- Maintains dependable transportation
Essential Functions:
- Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop and physically maneuver to properly
- Use of technology and office equipment including smartphone, email
- Exhibit a high standard of client quality service.
- Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with Clients, Families, Co-Workers, and Community Members.
- Ability to manage time effectively and exhibit organizational skills.
- Support clients in personal growth and development while respecting differences.
Job Type: Full-time Pay:
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour with a pay raise after 6 months and annual raises. Also a $250 sign on bonus after 90 days and another $250 after 6 months.
COVID-19 considerations:
All staff will need to be vaccinated at EBE Care Provider (will consider religious and medical reasons) or staff will need to wear a mask.
