Role Type: Full time (If Part Time, list weekly hours schedule)

Summary:

Provide technical oversight and leadership for Advisor Group’s commission processing systems and our Licensing and Registration and Commission Report Center applications. Oversee system design, development, and system maintenance and manage the team to deliver against project commitments and service levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee system design, development, and system maintenance of multiple platforms; manage and/or conduct technical design, testing, implementation, control, and maintenance of applications
  • Communicate with technical peers, such as database designers, Business Systems Analysts, business/user group contacts, and senior executive team members in setting and executing commission rollout and license-related initiatives.
  • Act as the key contact with vendors and suppliers.
  • Partner with the Architectural team to ensure architecture guidelines have been followed in the design and specifications of the assigned projects/systems and that there is appropriate adherence to the systems development lifecycle.
  • Manage staff to ensure alignment of departmental activities with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate resources and activities to achieve maximum expense control and productivity.
  • Provide recommendations on pay, performance management, employment, and staffing decisions.
  • Manage consultants and vendors to ensure adherence to plans and contractual commitments.
  • Prepare appropriate documentation to ensure clear project definition and execution
  • Partner with the Project Management Office to ensure timely and accurate time and expense reporting and schedule adherence.
  • Ensure appropriate resources and system quality to maintain published service levels and production system availability.
  • Demonstrate pro-active problem resolution abilities, demonstrate the ability to be a problem solver
  • Identify project risks and provide appropriate processes and procedures to mitigate those risks

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or foreign equivalent, in computer science or related field, or compensating industry experience

Basic Requirements:

  • 8 or more years of application development experience, including at least 4 years managing projects and supervising a staff of at least six people.
  • Financial responsibility for project and/or area operating budget.
  • 5 years’ experience with Agile Software development at the enterprise level, familiarity with ScaledAgile
  • 5 years’ experience with ADO or JIRA
  • Ability to utilize project development methodology tools; perform a cost-benefit analysis and economic feasibility studies; manage across multiple systems
  • Technical management background, ability to match business plans with cost-effective technical solutions
  • Multi-year experience managing development using one or more of the following: SQL Server, Stored Procedures, C#.NET, .NET Core, MVC, and Entity Framework
  • Knowledge of Front-end technologies Angular, jQuery, CSS, BootStrap
  • Knowledge of Azure development
  • Knowledge of Test-Driven Development
  • Knowledge of building applications by adopting DevOps practices such as CI (Continuous Integration) & CD (Continuous Deployment)•Knowledge of financial services, especially in the area of Financial Broker Dealer Operations, Commissions processing and Licensing and Registration is a plus.
  • Able to manage team interaction between core application development teams located throughout the world
