Join us as Director of SE’s award-winning internal audit shared service. It’s an exciting opportunity to lead the Audit Department to deliver the full suite of internal audit services across our shared service partner organisations – Scottish Enterprise, Skills Development Scotland, Scottish Funding Council, South of Scotland Enterprise and Clyde Gateway.

As Director of Audit, you’ll have overall responsibility for leading the internal audit service and providing independent assurance to meet statutory requirements. You’ll build and maintain positive relationships with the many stakeholders across the partner organisations, including with senior teams and audit committees for each partner organisation.

You’re a dynamic and ambitious Director of Audit or Head of Audit, with significant experience leading professionally qualified auditors and accountants. You’re ready to take charge of our high-performing internal audit team, and influence and facilitate change at a senior level.

Your skills, abilities and experience should include:

• A professional qualification in internal auditing or accountancy
• Significant experience reporting to and maintaining relationships with executive leadership and audit committee colleagues
• Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and facilitate changes in behaviour and processes
• A significant understanding of internal control, corporate governance and risk management, and their impact on the success of the business
• The ability to prioritise a complex, demanding and changing workload across multiple clients
