Gray Construction, Lexington KY, is looking for a Director of Human Resources.

  • Ensures all HR and related programs incorporate Gray’s Core Values.
  • Partners with leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future needs, including recruiting, retention, performance management and succession planning.
  • Provides support, guidance and coaching to the HR team, management, and other staff when complex, and sensitive questions and issues arise, may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstance.
  • Provide support, guidance and coaching to the Talent Acquisition team to ensure Gray Construction’s is hiring the best and the brightest.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and bonus programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for team members.
  • Annually evaluates company job descriptions and updates as necessary.
  • Responsible for orientation of new members in conjunction with Gray Inc.’s program. Responsible for managing the on-boarding and off-boarding, including exit interviews for team members.
  • Ensure affirmative action plan is executed and applicant tracking, and flow logs are maintained.
  • Develops, recommends and implements Gray Construction human resources policies and procedures and maintains the team member handbook.
  • Manages and monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary to meet company needs.
  • Conducts departmental audits to ensure compliance with FLSA, DOL and ICE.
  • Assist team members with wellness and/or benefit questions.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of team members’ personal information.
  • Maintains company service award program. Revises as necessary to meet company needs.
  • Manages company events and celebrations (i.e. – monthly anniversary celebrations, blood drives, local charity events, etc.)
  • Maintains local HR related vendor relationships.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
  • The new team member is required to have Bachelor’s degree and ten (10) years of experience in human resources; or the equivalent combination both. Experience in human resources is required. Professional certification in HR is preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.)
  • Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, software and e-mail.
  • The selected candidate will have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be physically present in the Lexington office.

Normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Overtime may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position manages multiple members of the human resources team.
