The role you’ll contribute:

The Director is responsible for the strategic management of the Laundry Services which operates at a statewide level for the entire state of Florida. Ensures that production meets all safety and regulatory compliance for thirty million pounds of laundry each year. Develops and recommends methodologies that ensure the department operates within budget, evaluating supply and labor usage needed to meet established metrics of twelve million dollars in revenue annually. Develops new business opportunities, implements required training and development of team members, and oversees the safety, procurement and supply of industrial chemicals, products and machinery for the plant.

• Leads and oversees system-wide delivery and performance of the Laundry system-wide for all hospitals and facilities within the State of Florida.
• Responsible for the overall management of laundry services and ensures that all production is completed in a safe and highly effective manner.
• Evaluates current systems and processes, develops and implements system-wide standards and methodologies for a comprehensive laundry and linen program including: preventive, corrective and routine maintenance, energy conservation, product quality and cleanliness and performance management.
• Maintains Laundry Services data and records for administrative and regulatory purposes.
• Develops and implements processes that ensure departments operate within budget.
• Provides strategic input and direction for laundry facility upgrades, and administrative oversight of day-to-day operations, ensuring long term durability of the laundry’s engineering systems.
• Ensures all Laundry departments maintain effective and appropriate communication and customer service within all sectors of the community including; approval agencies, community boards and private citizens.

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
• Three years of management experience in large-scale commercial laundry plants
• Five years’ experience working in commercial laundry plants
• Master’s degree in business administration or related field (Preferred)
• Certification as a Laundry and Linen Director from the Association for Linen Management (Preferred)
• Knowledgeable in infection prevention practices including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Requirements (Preferred)
