Summary/Required Skills

A community relations development role with a focus on overall hospital business development, as well as mission and community development. Requires a strong understanding of the healthcare industry and the community in which the health system operates. This leadership role requires a commitment to the hospital's mission and values, and the ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with the overall Market mission, operational, clinical, and financial strategic plans. It also requires excellent communication and relationship-building skills, as well as the ability to analyze data and develop effective marketing and outreach strategies.

Job Functions

• Oversee daily functions and operations of market EMS outreach and Community Paramedicine.
• Developing and implementing community outreach programs to educate the public about the role of EMS in healthcare and promote the hospital's services related to emergency care.
  • Focus on stroke/neurology program. Events for stroke awareness throughout Clark/Champaign/Greene/Madison counties. Trainings with EMS, community partners like USS, senior living facilities/SNFs, etc.
• Collaborating with hospital leadership and stakeholders to identify and prioritize areas for growth and development, and to ensure that the hospital's mission and values are reflected in all aspects of the organization.
• Coordinate process improvement reviews of emergency medical services care in the region and establishing standard feedback procedures to EMS clinicians.
• Partner with the Director of Community Health to represent Mercy Health in various community forums/task forces in order to create and/or sustain partnerships and collaborations that align with the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).
• Expand ability to provide first responder physical and mental health wellness throughout the Springfield Market.
• Partner with Director of Community Health to enhance community inter-organizational relationships through reputation management and marketing of Mercy Health services, collaborating with Faith Community Nursing and Community Paramedicine programs
• Coordinate logistics around health fairs and other outreach events and coordinate community event first aid and other event medicine support, in collaboration with regional and local EMS agencies
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to event medicine, ensuring that they are in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
• Collaborating with hospital departments, such as marketing, public relations, and community health, to ensure a coordinated approach to community business development efforts.
• Various additional duties as assigned.

Education:

• Minimum: Bachelor’s in Healthcare related field
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Healthcare related field

Experience:

• Minimum: 10 years’ experience working in Emergency Management
• Preferred: 15 years’ experience working in Emergency Management
