Director of Marketing:
Journal Technologies is seeking a Director of Marketing to help build and guide all facets of the company's brand, product, and corporate marketing. We have a great story that needs telling and advancement.
We are looking to build out our existing Marketing team with a complimentary leader. A successful candidate will be a strategic thinker that can create a cohesive brand in marketing. We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills - The ability to garner consensus from a large team is important and obtaining stakeholder buy-in on new, complex or challenging ideas is essential. Soft skills such as attention to detail, versatility and leadership abilities also rank high on the list of required qualities for a manager at this level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an overall marketing strategy for company products, including pricing and advertising programs to create awareness of and engagement with the company's brand and business.
- Develop marketing action plans that clearly define objectives, goals, schedules, and assignments to implement and achieve targeted opportunities.
- Supervise the department and provide guidance and feedback to other marketing professionals.
- Produce ideas for promotional events or activities and oversee their coordination.
- Plan and execute campaigns for corporate promotion, new product ideas and launches, etc.
- Prepare accurate and complete reports documenting marketing budgets, current market share, direct sales, and outline marketing plans.
- Monitor progress and submit performance reports.
- Responsible for producing valuable content for the company's online presence, editorial design and organizing the company's publications.
- Suggest and coordinate company conferences, trade shows, and major events.
- Conduct general market research to keep abreast of trends and competitor's marketing movements.
- Lead exploration and oversee selection of enabling technologies for the department.
- Accountability for budget and people allocation across projects.
- Communication strategy for media and other entities.
- Oversee the operation of a company's website or email marketing program and provide analytics reviews.
Qualifications/Capabilities:
- Proven experience as a Marketing Director or similar role (legal technology industry preferred)
- Analytical and creative thinker
- Highly organized and an outstanding attention to detail.
- A proven ability to keep the urgent and important in check.
- Up to speed with current and online marketing techniques and best practices
- Thorough knowledge of web analytics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; working well with all levels of internal management and staff to get things done.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills to help ensure and update high-quality, professional written communications.
- Proven ability to work with minimal guidance to figure out approaches to solve problems and achieve outcomes.
- High degree of familiarity and comfort with technology, especially enterprise software.
- Comfort with technology tools such as Microsoft Office, Teams, and Slack; and a willingness to implement new productivity software is assumed.
- BSc/BA in business administration, marketing and communications or relevant field... but we recognize many of the best marketers arrive to this realm via diverse pathways.
