This position is responsible for the global payroll function and US payroll operations. The US payroll includes the processing of payroll, distribution of funds and all required compliance for approximately 25,000 employees with multiple pay cycles (both weekly and bi-weekly). The Director will be responsible for a team of 21 Corporate Payroll employees and will supervise multi-state payroll taxes and ensure timely/accurate deposits for approximately 40 legal entities in the US. The candidate must have a strong project management background as migration to a new payroll platform and SOX compliance will likely happen over the next 24 months. Payroll for most US employees is processed in-house using legacy ERP software (Jonas & Erickson) and Ceridian Dayforce. Experience with system conversions, integration of acquisitions and implementing best practices will be high priority factors in the hiring decision. The candidate must have significant first-hand experience with running both in-house and outsourced payroll solutions.

This position will report to the Sr. Director of Finance Transformation and is located in Kennesaw, Georgia or can be remote.

  • Direct supervision of Corporate Payroll team
  • Responsible for all aspects of payroll company-wide
  • Accurate & timely paycheck processing
  • Accurate & timely filing/depositing required tax payments
  • Oversight and polices on garnishments and unemployment claims
  • Any other payroll-related requirements (ex. census requests, gov't surveys)
  • Ensuring compliance with current government regulations
  • Extensive US payroll tax experience including multi-state filings and multiple legal entities
  • Prior experience with implementing SOX-compliant policies/procedures
  • Significant first-hand experience migrating from outsource-to-insource and insource-to-outsource
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience managing a payroll department
  • Systems implementation experience
  • Process improvement experience
  • Must be expert in all facets of US payroll compliance
  • Prior experience with functional consolidation and/or relocation of functions
