Summary:
This Director of Sales Strategy and Planning will understand and comprehend the company’s long term marketing and manufacturing plans and help build the sales strategies to best execute those plans. A key responsibility will be to partner with the sales organization to ensure that operating plans are in place to deliver key customer and sales objectives. The individual in this role will need to translate facts and data into actionable sales plans and activities across Foodservice, Retail, and In Store Bakery channels. In addition, the Director of Sales Strategy and Planning will be responsible for the management and standardization of monthly decks to report out on both sales activities and ad hoc projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comprehend and translate marketing initiatives into sales strategies that will lead to superior execution in the field
- Manage the planning cycle. Develop Long Range Strategic Sales Plan and Annual Sales Plans
- Partner with Category and Channel Marketers to identify growth opportunities and development of promotional plans
- Manage monthly sales reporting decks and board decks
- Identify best practices and standardize across sales channels
- Collaborate with sales in the development of customer plans, business proposals, and reviews
- Monthly travel required (approximately 30%)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, customer marketing, or sales planning
- Strategy and planning experience required
- Foodservice and or retail CPG experience required
- Ability to translate business issues into actionable tactics that drive positive results
- The ability to work cross functionally and to manage a large number of complex projects
- Independent self-starter with exceptional ability to be a team player and collaborate with cross-functional internal and external teams
- Exceptional leadership skills including the ability to create buy-in and influence others; build and maintain relationships, etc.
- Ability to build sales strategies and tell a story through a presentation
- Strong systems and power point skills
