Scope of Position:

Assist in the execution of the Fellows discipleship strategy to develop students who will impact their future campuses and culture for Christ. Teach and mentor students in the areas of knowing Jesus more deeply, being transformed in their character and living a life of Kingdom influence.

Reports to: Discipleship Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop meaningful and healthy relationships with students, modeling a life committed to following Jesus. Disciple students in one-on-one and group settings using content outlined in the student discipleship strategy.
  • Assist Discipleship Manager with creating and implementing discipleship strategy and content.
  • Assist in planning and facilitating various aspects of discipleship programming. Train other staff to disciple students and engage in discipleship programming.
  • Assist in the teaching and facilitation of small groups, community gatherings, retreats, and peak training experiences, implementing the overall student discipleship strategy.
  • Mentor and provide informal counseling to students in need of restoration and refer those who may need outside professionals to the Associate Director Student Learning and Living.
  • Mentor and coach students using the established community standards, handling disciplinary action as needed, and documenting issues as appropriate.
  • Assist in weekly evening programming (avg. 1 night a week) and travel for peak training experiences (1-2 weeks per semester) and international travel to Brazil (4-5 weeks of international travel).
  • Assist the Service Learning & International Coordinator with the spiritual and practical preparation of students for the International Immersion and help facilitate in country experience.
  • Model authentic community for students and graduate assistants through experiential learning and training experiences.
  • Maintain regular office hours for administrative duties, team collaboration, and student appointments.

Requirements:

  • An evangelical believer practicing an active faith in a New Testament-based denomination and is in unreserved agreement with the Institute’s Statement of Faith and Biblical Conduct and Lifestyle Standards. Must support the vision, values, philosophy and community standards of Impact 360 Institute.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience in discipleship/spiritual formation of college students. Campus ministry experience preferred.
  • Must be physically capable of assisting in the leadership of outdoor adventure activities and multi-night excursions in a wilderness setting.
  • Less than 3 driving violations in the last 5 years; ability to drive a 15-passenger van.
  • Travel for the facilitation of student programming, staff training, development, and planning retreats. (An average of 3 nights/month and 1 or 2 Saturdays/month)
  • International travel for the facilitation of the student international immersion. (Average of 4-5 weeks/annually.)
  • Demonstrated use of effective judgment, discernment, leadership and decision-making skills and the ability to multi-task while leading multiple projects to successful completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player and team builder while using highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
