How will you make an impact?
This position will make an impact by leading all aspects of the US Distribution Center including all personnel and inventory and logistics. Responsible for overall warehouse performance including safety, quality, on time delivery, inventory, and productivity. Show skill in the use of the Navision computer system. Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks in accordance with SOP’s and business guidelines in support of business objectives.
What will you do?
Distribution Management
- Prioritize effectively to optimize workflow across a variety of job functions.
- Ensure efficiency and accuracy of distribution processes including but not limited to order processing and receiving.
- US Trade Compliance Officer for division; responsible for staying in sync with US Customs regulations and performing various trade compliance functions.
- This position will include handling functions required by QSR for inspection of incoming products. The inspection of products will be in accordance with internal SOP’s and findings documented according to QSR regulations. (Ref. 21 CFR 820.60, 820.65, 820.80, 820.86, 820.90, 820.100, 820.120, 820.130, 820.140, 820.150, 820.160, 820.180, 820.198 and 820.250)
Inventory Management
- Lead all aspects of US inventory including procurement and forecasting as well as monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Analyze sales trends and ordering patterns.
Managerial responsibilities
- Day to day supervision of Distribution Center staff including performance reviews.
- Demonstrates Role Model Leadership which includes embodying Thermo Fisher Scientific’s 4-I Values, delight customers, communicate openly and honestly, focus on growth, and champion employee development.
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of Distribution personnel including talent selection, development, performance management and process improvement.
- Being a member of the US Operations Team, actively participate in developing and driving the long-term strategy for the function.
How will you get here?
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or related logistic.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience
- Demonstrated Leadership capabilities, with experience in supervising and leading teams to a successful outcome.
- 3+ years of distribution/logistics experience required preferably working in a highly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated experience as a people leader.
- Inventory and product procurement management including analytics.
- US Customs and Trade Compliance experience is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Capability of working independently, taking responsibility for the management of processes, projects, and timelines.
- Capability to lead change and work across departments to implement new procedures and programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point etc.)
- Ability to get results in a matrix organization.
