Summary:
Mid-level management position accountable for supporting the achievement of sales and operational objectives in a designated district. Communicate business objectives. Manage and monitor business results. Select, coach, develop, and manage staff. Embrace and lead change.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Support a district of sales-oriented operations professionals to achieve business objectives.
2. Supervise district store managers. Ensure that store managers receive specific, timely feedback and coaching focused on developing skills and improving business results.
3. Devote time and resources to understand customer requirements in the district, help address customer issues in the field, and promote awareness of customer requirements in the stores.
4. Address customer issues with store managers and coach store managers on the sales process.
5. Ensure that district operational employees meet company standards for sales practices in the stores, operational practices, customer service standards, inventory control and merchandising, employee learning and development, safety, loss prevention, and regulatory compliance.
6. Ensure that store managers select qualified candidates for store operational roles, effectively onboard new store employees, and effectively coach and supervise store employees.
7. Assist in the retention of key operational employees and the attraction of new customer-facing employees.
8. Mentor and develop key employees.
9. Visibly contribute to the district management team and bring the voice of the operational employee to the district management team.
10. Promote a positive, ethical, professional, and customer-oriented company image.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements:
1. Ability to solve problems using relevant facts and sound judgment.
2. Ability to acquire and assemble relevant information, prioritize, and make decisions under time pressure.
3. Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with employees and peer managers.
4. Ability to use a computer for various business applications including MS Office.
5. Ability to prepare, organize, analyze, and review numeric and non-numeric records and data in digital and print formats.
6. Ability to communicate effectively in English orally, in writing, and in presentations to internal and external audiences. Fluency in one other language preferred.
7. Ability to travel up to fifty percent of the time, including limited overnight travel.
8. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and meet the requirements of the company’s Employee Driving Agreement.
