Drilling Trainer
The role
Fugro Academy Training are looking to recruit a Drilling Trainer to join the team in Plymouth. Reporting to the Global Technical Training Manager, the role is responsible for delivering drilling training courses across the organisation by designing, developing, and delivering courses and programmes in accordance with Fugro training policies and procedures. Most of these positions are technical roles, delivering technical training, but may include soft skill trainers that deliver leadership training.
Who you will be working with:
You will be working within the company's training and development department, delivering courses across the organisation but within the knowledge and expertise scope of the individual trainer.
Here is what a typical day would be like:
- Work closely with the Fugro Academy Training team to design and develop training programmes
- Virtual, Face to Face and Online Delivery of Drilling training courses and programmes
- Work closely with Land and Marine Drilling experts to gather the technical information required to develop training courses.
- Ensure a safe working environment, adhere to strict Health and Safety guidelines, and ensure the welfare of all course attendees.
- Respond to emails from across the organisation.
- Updating the company databases, keeping records up to date.
- This role may require occasional, global travel to various Fugro or client offices to deliver training
- Supporting other trainers.
Who we are looking for:
Essential
- Experience with drilling technology and operations, onshore and/or offshore
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Good computer skills using Word / Excel / MS Project etc.
- Adaptability, with a proven ability to work as part of a small team and independently.
- Willingness to learn new skills, appropriate to the position, as Fugro Academy develops.
Desirable
- Coaching, mentoring, or training junior Drillers
- Leadership, mentoring and management experience
- Experience of training course design and development processes
