Overview:
The Current Product Engineering Manager for Large Tractor Driveline is responsible for leading an engineering design team to grow customer satisfaction by resolving issues affecting current production drivelines. The current product team responsibilities include the application of 7-step problem solving methodology, as well as Scrum/Agile methodology to analyze data, determine root cause, and implement solutions that improve warranty, improve manufacturing, reduce cost, or add features of large tractor drivelines. The Current Product Engineering Manager for Large Tractor Driveline is responsible for leading an engineering design team to grow customer satisfaction by resolving issues affecting current production drivelines. The current product team responsibilities include the application of 7-step problem solving methodology, as well as Scrum/Agile methodology to analyze data, determine root cause, and implement solutions that improve warranty, improve manufacturing, reduce cost, or add features of large tractor drivelines.
- Develop and support the execution of current product improvement plans consistent with meeting product line objectives and timelines.
- Support cost reduction targets by optimization of designs and support supply base change requests.
- Collaborate with a multi-functional teams including hydraulics, electronics, chassis, etc.
- Lead the team from concept through implementation to resolve driveline current product quality profiles in a timely manner utilizing the 7-step problem solving methodology and Scrum/Agile approach.
- Escalation contact for driveline manufacturing plant line down issues and technical service support for current product drivelines.
- Team responsible to review and determine risk and acceptability for supplier change requests and temporary deviations.
- Drive the team to follow unified profile documentation and project status reports.
- Participate and support the team in weekly platform change review board meetings.
- Participate and provide guidance in DFMEA and design reviews.
- Verify design changes are efficient for manufacturing and able to meet quality requirements.
- Collaborate with multiple platforms to implement quality and reliability solutions.
- Work with the Driveline program manager & project planner to prepare current product development R&D costs, resources requirements (full time & temporary), and project timing.
- Compile, maintain, and drive multiple schedules for current product activities (working with planner).
- Promote collaboration within the Driveline Current Product team.
- Position is accountable to meet staffing requirements.
- Position is accountable for team member growth and development.
- Position required to administer team member performance evaluations (Mid-year & full year) and provide details for yearly goal setting.
- This position pays $120,000 to $183,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in mechanical, agricultural, and/ or automotive engineering disciplines.
- 10 plus years demonstrated ability of working in a product development environment, or similar, with exposure to engineering, development processes, and multi-functional team collaboration.
- 3 plus years demonstrated experience coordinating with, leading and managing engineering teams.
