DSP Driver
At Life Builders, we provide adult day program and community inclusion opportunities for adults with disabilities. Come make a difference!
The main purpose of a DSP Driver is to provide safe and reliable transportation for adults with developmental disabilities to and from Life Builders’ Day program. Our drivers receive paid training and use a company van while driving their route.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure individuals are transported in a fun and safe environment.
- Complete a pre-trip inspection to ensure vehicle has all essential equipment before leaving for your route, this can include: first aid kit, gas card, fire extinguisher, etc.
- Assist individuals when they enter and exit the vehicle to ensure safe transition.
- Maintain safety within the vehicle while on route.
- Record mileage and time electronically using digital system.
- Stay up-to-date with your route and any changes that are made.
Skills:
- This position requires patience and the ability to remain calm while driving in different situations.
- Perform defensive driving at all times.
- Be able to show kindness and empathy to the individuals we serve.
- Must be well organized.
- Must own a smartphone with data, and be able to use a phone-based GPS map
- Must be able to physically assist adults on and off the vehicle.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current and valid Driver License with less than 6 points on driving record
- No felony convictions as identified and outlined by the state Department of Developmental Disabilities
Schedule:
Monday - Friday (Days Negotiable)
Morning Route: 7:00am - 9:30am
Afternoon Route: 2:15pm - 5:00pm
License/Certifications:
- Ohio Drivers License
- No CDL or training required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
Supplemental pay types:
- Bonuses based upon performance.
