Job description
Position Description: The Driver is responsible for loading outbound and unloading inbound product and transporting it in a motor vehicle to and from vendors in a safe and responsible manner. The Driver performs their responsibilities in accordance with Federal, State and company policies and procedures driving laws. Driver must have a clean driving record (no points).Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to ensure the highest level of quality and service.
Delivery and pickup of products to and from customers and suppliers - 70%.
Maintain and carries a valid and unrestricted Class "D" Arizona Driver License at all times.
Safely loads and unloads product using forklift, pallet jack and manual handling.
Accurately and thoroughly verifies the content of inventory against the packing slip to ensure precise product and destination of items being transported.
Communicates regularly by telephone or in person with Supervisor and/or Shipping & Receiving to receive delivery instructions, updates, and notification of delays or accidents on the road or other traffic and transportation situations
Follow all 5S department procedures which include but are not limited to; keeping floors clean of oil and debris, returning tools to proper locations, organize part pans, and performs other housekeeping duties.
Assist Shipping & Receiving department when not driving - 30%.
Driving and maintaining pick-up and delivery in a safe, timely, and careful manner.
Careful handling of high-value parts.
Excellent and direct communication - both written and oral - with vendors, co-workers, and management.
