Gulf Coast Supply and Manufacturing is seeking a Fleet Supervisor, reporting to the Fleet Manager, Leading in Safety, Quality and Performance for all locations for Class A Drivers and the transportation group. The Fleet will consist of delivery vehicles, trailers, corporate vehicles and lifting equipment as needed. The Position can be placed at any of our operating locations.
Gulf Coast Supply & Manufacturing LLC (GCSM) is a privately-owned company with approximately 140 employees in five locations across six states. GCSM manufactures various profiles of metal roofing and trim, with a primary focus on residential re-roof market generating over $ 50 million in annual revenue.
Required Experience
Ø Minimum recent 2 years supervisory experience with responsibility of direct reports
Ø Minimum 2 years FMCSA experience
Ø Must have Microsoft Office Experience (Word, Excel)
Required Travel
Ø Minimum 25% travel within the GCSM service area.
Essential Duties
Support the Fleet Manager with leading our company drivers at each location, while upholding the GCSM motto of Safety, Quality and Performance.
Ø Monitoring DOT logs, ensures drivers are in compliance with all DOT and Company regulation/polices.
Ø Supervises the staffing, training/coaching, performance management, by working with the Fleet Manager in leading and implementing Safety, Quality and performance.
Ø Manage lead drivers across the GCSM service area, and more than 24 delivery drivers, across 4 locations, with a combination of one-ton trucks with goosenecks, semi-trucks and other Company vehicles.
Ø Accompanies drivers on ride-alongs for evaluating safety and performance and evaluating preferred work methods.
Ø Attendance of daily start-up meetings at 05:00 am: ensures drivers are DOT compliant, loads are properly secured and proper PPE is being warn.
Ø Work with third party and Fleet Manager to coordinate tracking of all relevant information on drivers, such as License status, traffic tickets, accidents and other risk and safety-related information
Ø Ensures accurate completion of all delivery and driver-related paperwork including work wave check off, pre and post trip inspections and accident/incident reporting.
Ø Monitor maintenance of all trucks, tractors and trailers.
Ø Organizes required repairs with proper departments as needed.
Ø Third Party outsourcing as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Ø High School diploma, or equivalent degree, or equivalent combination of education and related experience
Ø Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, DOT rules and regulations
Ø Demonstrated successful conflict resolution
Ø Solve practical problems
Ø Apply all relevant policies in a consistent, timely and objective manner
Ø Knowledge of truck and equipment Safety
Ø Organizing and Planning
Ø Customer Service
Ø Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Ø Work with other cross functional teams
Ø Instrumental in creating a collaborative work environment
Ø Must have decision making skills+
