Management Analyst 4

DSHS's Research and Data Analysis Division within Facilities, Finance, and Analytics Administration (FFA) is seeking a Management Analyst 4, reporting directly to RDA's Deputy Director.

Do you have superior organizational, process improvement, and communication skills? In this role, you will provide complex business, data analysis, or project management services that support RDA staff, and leadership. As a member of the administrative core team, you will anticipate, research, and track issues and guide process improvement teams to improve office efficiency and safety. We are especially interested in someone with experience using Microsoft Visio for projects such as planning spaces, or who is able to become proficient in the first six months. Your work will also help the agency enhance its ability to assist those in need and help to Transform Lives!


Some of what you'll do
  • Identify operational issues with Deputy Director; troubleshoot, research long-term solutions, and provide recommendations to develop policies and procedures to correct any issues that arise
  • Coordinate space layout and equipment management
  • Manage space planning using Microsoft Visio
  • Manage purchasing contracts; authorize, purchase, monitor, and resolve contract issues regarding RDA software licenses and hardware purchases
  • Anticipate, research, and track issues and guide process improvement teams to improve office efficiency and safety, especially risk management and asset management
  • Plan and develop databases in Access and Excel
  • Oversee the completion of and troubleshoot the annual training, certifications, licenses, service agreements, and background checks for 120+ staff
  • Serve as a liaison/coordinator between RDA and Human Resources Division (HRD), Technology Innovation Administration (TIA)
  • Handle all communication with data share agreements and classified agreements across multiple state agencies
  • Serve as a coordinator between RDA and the agency’s business units
  • Backup for administrative assignments for RDA

Who should apply?


Professionals with a bachelor’s degree* in business administration, public administration, law, public health, health administration, or a related field, and 4 years of experience conducting research and analyzing policies, laws, rules, or regulations or a comparable combination of graduate education and experience.


  • Professional work experience may substitute for education.

Demonstrated ability to write and speak effectively in order to establish and maintain professional relationships.


Additional work experience should include (may be concurrent):
  • Five years of experience using the most recent versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe Professional, and SharePoint
  • Five years of experience working with and protecting human subjects, confidential, or sensitive data
