DSHS WSH Clinical/Medical Technologist
Job description
We are seeking a Clinical/Medical Technologist 2 at Western State Hospital Laboratory. In this roll you will be responsible for phlebotomy, patient testing, and all necessary tasks to keep the laboratory functioning as a College of American Pathologists accredited facility. We value teamwork and dependability.
Some of what you will be doing
Perform patient testing in all areas of the laboratory; hematology, chemistry, immunology, and urinalysis- Perform microscopic examination of blood smears and urine sediments
- Perform Phlebotomy
- Review lab reports completed by other laboratory professionals.
- Ensure analyzers are functioning properly and perform maintenances.
- Check off Billings (CPT) codes for the tests performed/completed daily.
- Professional with a bachelor’s degree in medical technology or equivalent BS field.
- And a certification with American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP MT, MLT, or MLS) or equivalent (e.g., American Medical Technologists, NCA Certified Laboratory Professional
- And a valid WA State Dept. of Health Medical Assistant Phlebotomist certification
