Educational Outreach Lead - Submarines

As a Educational Outreach Lead you will be a focal point for the Submarines business to engage with schools, colleges, and the community to inspire young people into the Nuclear industry, into engineering and into Submarines.

What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for providing programme management, co-ordination, and delivery of outreach activity within schools, colleges and the community to drive STEM for the Nuclear Skills Academy and Submarines business. To generate an inspired pool of talented young people in the East Midlands.
- Support the development of a STEM strategy for Submarines and the Nuclear Skills Academy - To act as the central point of contact for the Submarines business in support of STEM activity for the Nuclear Skills Academy - Programme manage all activity in support of STEM activity.
- Support the central Rolls-Royce Education Outreach Manager aligning strategy and activity from within Submarines with the overall RR strategy.
- Develop a suite of assets for STEM activities to inspire and engage young people and communities. To support Early Career Recruitment ensuring consistency of messaging for attraction and recruitment. Liaise with the University of Derby to ensure that activities being led from within the UoD are aligned to Submarine’s strategy.
- Engaging within the Submarines business to generate a team of ambassadors who will support STEM activity within the community. Co-ordinate local activities to ensure that a consistent message is being provided across the communities.
- Create a sustainable plan of events/activities to deliver STEM activities.
- Working with STEM partners. Support the business in its goal to reach 25 million STEM recipients by 2030.

- Qualified to degree level or with equivalent experience.
- Experience or knowledge of STEM.
- Experience of managing stakeholders and supporting change.
- Submarine’s domain knowledge an advantage, ideally having worked in a variety of roles across the Submarines business.
- Experience in influencing people at all levels within the business.
- Experience of working with external organisations including those in the education sector.
- Will suit an innovative individual motivated to look beyond immediate business needs and keen to improve existing ways of working.
- Drive to inspire young people about STEM subjects.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
