Job description
We are seeking an experienced individual who has awareness of the multiple complex reasons why families in the UK decide to home educate. Someone who can lead and develop another staff member, building their confidence and knowledge base.
The successful candidate will be confident with the legislative frameworks surrounding Elective Home Education (EHE) and are able to articulate a vision for support and monitoring of Croydon's families.
You will maintain the register, asses and review family’s suitability and efficiency and ensure that we are compliant with our Local Authority responsibilities. You will share your knowledge widely across the service and develop key relationships, building understanding of EHE for Social workers, other colleagues in Education and SEND.
You will keep abreast of national changes and developments in practice - including the ‘Schools Bill’ that is currently in discussion in parliament. Be willing to attend national and regional events to learn best practice and share ideas across the authority.
You will work under the Strategic Lead for Safeguarding, Behaviour and FAP processes and develop a mutual understanding of the nuances of EHE work and the varied ideologies and reasons why it occurs.
