Electrical Designer
12 Month Contract
The main function of a Designer IV is to assist Engineering and Operations in complying with Facility Data Management Programs.
Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain Electrical Hazardous Area Classification Plans, Grounding Plans, Electrical One Line diagrams, Electrical Wiring Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, and other required drawings using a heavy Electrical and Instrumentation background.
- Communicate with internal and external business partners to determine their needs and satisfaction.
- Review and verify that plans, designs, drawings, and maps conform to applicable codes, standards, specifications, and internal business partners' requirements.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and efficient design and delivery of drawings from conception to the as-built state, as well as continued maintenance and updates. This includes Electrical Hazardous Area Classification Plans, Electrical One Line diagrams, Schematics, Emergency Operating Procedure drawings, Cause and Effect Matrixes, Relief System Design data, and other required drawings.
Skills:
- Experience with Instrumentation design for Compressor Stations, Meter Stations, and Mainline Valve Sites.
- Proficiency in Schematic Ladder Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, PLC controllers, including but not limited to Allen Bradley, Schneider, and Emerson manufacturers.
- Experience with Electrical design for Compressor Stations, Meter Stations, and Mainline Valve Sites.
- Ability to work with Electrical Plans, Conduit and Cable Schedules, Grounding Plans, Electrical Classification Area Plans (EAC), MCC Schematics.
Education/Experience:
- Associate of Applied Science degree in Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent work experience.
- Broad level of knowledge concerning industry codes, standards, and practices such as ASME, API, ANSI, DOT, ISA, NEC, ACCI, AISC, UBC, ASCE, NFPA, AWS, NACE, IBC, etc.
- Minimum of 5 years of drafting experience with at least 3 years focused on independent design assignments.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in gas and oil industry design and drafting.
- Thorough knowledge and ability to use AutoCAD and AutoCAD-compatible software such as CADWorx Plant and CADWorx P&ID.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
