Objective:
- Perform in-house repairs and troubleshoot Vehicle issues reported to the Vehicle’s Electronics Lab at the JFK SDC
- Assist other departments in troubleshooting electrical issues
- Provide technical recommendations for Engineering level documents (TCA’s, MODs, etc.)
- Ensure the application of EHS policies, local regulations, and professional standards
Responsibilities:
- Ensure requests to the Vehicle’s Electronics Lab are filled efficiently with minimal to no disruption to service
- Maintain electrical components, systems, and subsystems
- Confer with the customer, engineers, and other departments to discuss existing assets, potential upgrades, and projects
- Ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
- Confer with vendors on obsolete parts and potential overhauls
- Provide corrective action plans by analyzing logs from various subsystems
- Understand electrical engineering codes and safety standards
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of Automatic Train Control (ATC) vehicle onboard equipment
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology
- Knowledge of various vehicle subsystems (Auxiliary Power Unit, Power Conversion Unit, HVAC, Brake Systems) a plus
- Experience on railway site management
