Summary

The Electrical Prototype Engineer I is a technical oriented builder, creator, and “tinkerer” with a well-rounded technical background and a passion for solving new problems with technology. This individual is familiar, comfortable, and experienced with unusual challenges and new problems solved across hardware, software, and electrical. They will work well in a collaborative and challenging team environment full of technical types. Our fast-paced & rapidly changing environment will motivate passionate and clever technical individuals and it is a part of what drives our team.

Note: “Technology” is used to define and include hardware (PC, touchscreen, peripherals, components), software (OS--Windows, Android, Linux--applications, systems, data, tools), and electrical (PSU, electrical components, electrical distribution / wiring / safety, low voltage/high voltage, etc.).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Help grow company revenue and deliver on both external end client and internal sales team initiatives by quickly and accurately completing assigned tech projects

Support technical and emerging market research and projects, prototype design, creative technical problem solving, best practices, complete projects on time, technical documentation, work well in team environment with multi-discipline projects across a wide scope of markets and with internal colleagues, and external hardware, software and services partners

Projects will include prototype, pilot and production design and development; integrate technology, manage technology and assets, research / test / approve / integrate technology, ownership and communication of risk in design & timing for milestones

Documentation of best practices, discover better methods/tools/partners to accomplish goals and mission

Innovate ways to accelerate work and deliverables, continually improve knowledge base on related technologies and processes

Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal team

Support QC/Production and troubleshooting of technology products and systems

Maintain quality with both inside and outside sales allowing them to be more efficient and manage daily activities and meet all company milestones and deliverables

PCB Design and firmware development

Assess and document risk during development to facilitate QA/QC objectives

Other duties may be assigned at any time

Education and/or Experience

0-2 years of relevant experience, with preference placed on either an associates or bachelors degree in relevant field

Hands on experience with electrical (low voltage and high voltage), computer, hardware and software, peripheral and component interface device, integration and testing experience, etc.

Basic familiarity / background with standard code (HTML5, JavaScript, XML and basic scripting. Familiarity with variety of media devices & formats

Other Qualifications

Must have the ability to work with minimal direction and manage projects individually, expansive and in-depth technology background with a desire to research and explore new technology offerings, pushing the creative envelope (technical creativity)

Must be self-motivated, have a high level of professionalism and communication, and be able to multi-task with continuous parallel assignments and work on all of them cohesively while hitting milestones

Project Management experience

Successful Traits: strong sense of project ownership / responsibility, commitment to work deadlines, perfectionist about work quality, enjoys working hard and likes to have fun at work

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,339.99 - $70,000.00 per year
