The RMD team is looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for an agile Electronic Protection team to support the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) department. The MDS department provides subject matter expertise for concept development, architectural design, requirements generation & flow-down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, test and evaluation of world-class Missile Defense & Sensor Systems to be achieved through our people, processes, technology and performance.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

You will be working as part of a team to define radar system requirements, design architectures and algorithms in support of those requirements and collaborate with software development teams to ensure effective implementation. Some specific responsibilities include:

  • Capability/Feature Design for Arbitrary Waveform Generation and Signal Processing
  • Requirements development and detailed design packages
  • Prepare and present briefings for customer working groups, Technical Interchange Meetings and Design Reviews
  • Support of Agile Team(s) software development including requirement explanation, Q&A handling, capability feature definition and performance analysis of feature implementation to gauge whether the feature is complete and meetings design expectations.
  • Create and coordinate team meetings, sprint planning and reviews, retrospectives, and standups.
  • Define capability/feature backlog for planning and execution.
  • Guide design efforts through issues and roadblocks

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years working in Design, Development or Test of Electronic Protection capabilities.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in support of the AN/TPY-2 radar system.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with signal processing
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in field of engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Experience with Battle Management command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (BMC4I) systems, Radar Systems or signal processing techniques
  • Experience with developing, documenting and maintaining processes, methods and tools.
  • Proven ability to develop technical solutions to complex issues.
  • Experience working with Matlab, C/C++, Java or DOORS
  • Strong analytic, technical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Experience with system level requirements development, documentation and maintenance and/or requirements development and design of system level software architecture
  • Experience with radar system concepts; detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms and their behaviors and performance
  • Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors and analysis tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance.
  • Experience in using AI/ML and signal processing in database and algorithm design and enhancement.
  • Previous military service
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex user needs.
  • Strong analytic, technical and problem-solving skills
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or greater
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related discipline
