With Engineering and Production teams around the globe, we excel in designing and manufacturing steering systems, foot pedals, hand controls, and other electronic control devices.


We are currently seeking an Electronic Systems Engineer. The Electronic Systems Engineer position will be in the Willis, TX, facility 35 miles from George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The role will manage the development/specify the electronics used within our products in the Off-Highway industry.

Responsibilities

  • Design new and derivative PCBAs based on product specification and industry standards, including schematic, component selection, and PCB layout.
  • Specify the electronics layout due to performance, EMC, environmental conditions, and physical integration constraints.
  • Create “Proof of Concept” prototypes by bread-boarding, specifying, and procuring sensors, controllers, and actuators, and assembling the complete system.
  • Bench test, troubleshoot, and debug new designs.
  • Generate Product Specifications for new products.
  • Interface with Test Lab personnel by submitting test requests with test samples, approving test set-ups, and reviewing test reports.
  • Participate in the creation of DFMEA’s
  • Perform competitor product tear-down analysis.
  • Execute all other reasonable duties as requested by the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Electrical engineering
  • Prior electronic product and/or electromechanical design experience
  • Working knowledge of sensors, actuators, and motor control electronics
  • Familiarity with components such as microprocessors, MOSFETS, sensors, transistors, capacitors, etc
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable:

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical / Electromechanical engineering
  • Experience with CANbus SAEJ1939 protocol
  • Experience with EMC testing and protection circuitry
  • Experience with schematic capture tools such as Altium or EAGLE
  • Knowledge of APQP or an equivalent ISO/IATF quality system
  • Experience with embedded hardware and firmware programming
  • Technical writing experiences such as products specifications, validation test plans, and system interface control documentation
