Kindergarten through Fifth grade Teaching Assistants and Apprentices will support the lead teacher in the implementation of Core Knowledge curriculum. Homeroom subjects will include Language Arts (Riggs or Spalding for phonics), Mathematics (Singapore), History and Geography (American/World History and Geography), and Science.

No bachelor’s degree is required, and certification is not required to teach at any of the Great Hearts Academies. Great Hearts teachers demonstrate both a love for the breadth of the liberal arts, and a depth of knowledge in the subject area(s) they teach. Apprentice teachers may gain valuable experience in their role for a year before taking a lead position, provided they also attain a bachelor’s degree, which is required for any lead role.
