Job Purpose or Objective: As the Emergency Management Coordinator I, you will be a program specialist for the Choctaw Nation Emergency Management Department. You will develop plans and guidance for the emergency management phases of response, recovery, preparedness, and mitigation. You will report to the OEM Manager.
Primary Tasks:
Document emergency preparedness drills following accrediting body standards and the guidelines outlined in the Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP).
Coordinate training efforts to ensure staff training related to the plans of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
Develop, update and maintain a comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.
Conduct hazard and risk assessments, identify and analyze trends, rank and score the hazard profiles and determine mitigation efforts needed to complete annual Hazard Vulnerability Analysis.
Provide leadership with sound operational description of needs for response, recovery, and mitigation efforts.
Test and maintain emergency management communication and response equipment to ensure functionality.
Ensure documentation and accounting for equipment, personnel, and expenditures incurred during a response to an emergency.
Participate in quarterly committee reviews and create reports.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Associate degree in Emergency Management or related field or approved relevant work experience
Associate Emergency Manager (AEMĀ®) certification or ability to obtain within one year of employment
Complete the NIMS training (ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800), Web EOC, EM Resources & HSEEP training or obtain within one year of employment
Obtain OK First Assistant certification.
Obtain OK First Weather Radar Interpretation Certification Knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Hospital Incident Command System (HICS)
Proficiency using standard office software applications.
3 years of experience in emergency management, healthcare management, outreach/public relations or related field
