We are looking for an energetic Employee Communications Manager with experience managing internal communications for a fast-growing, multi-national organization with a diverse workforce in multiple locations. In this role, you will report to the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications and will work closely with the senior leadership team and the Human Resources team. Strong writing skills are essential along with project management and strategic planning experience. Knowledge of best practices in HR communication, employee engagement, culture and change management are highly desired.

This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing company in the electric vehicle battery materials industry and build an employee communications function from the ground up. This is a full-time role based in Westborough, MA with a hybrid work schedule available.

Primary Duties:

  • Strategic planning: Develop and manage an actionable employee communications plan to help advance corporate communication goals.
  • HR communication: Partner with the human resources team to understand communication needs and develop strategic communication solutions.
  • Writing and content creation: Write and create content to communicate with employees on topics of strategic importance across multiple communication channels.
  • Project Management: Manage ad hoc communication projects related to employee compensation (stock options and bonuses), benefits (health/welfare and retirement), workplace safety, onboarding, employer branding, recruiting, etc.
  • Employee Intranet: Develop and manage an employee intranet site to support the growth of the organization; provide coaching and counsel to departments on the maintenance and upkeep of their departmental pages.
  • Employee Newsletter: Develop and manage a monthly employee newsletter (email-based).
  • Presentation Development: Develop presentations and scripts for senior leader presentations and videos, as needed.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Experience developing and managing traditional and digital communication channels, including corporate intranets, email newsletters, and SMS messaging and digital signage.
  • Project management skills and experience.
  • Desire to work collaboratively and continuously improve and learn.
  • Commitment to safety, diversity, employee health and sustainability.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Capable of wearing task specific personal protective equipment including dust mask, respirator, safety shoes, gloves, and safety glasses/face shield
  • Capable of meeting OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines: < 50lbs
  • While performing the duties of this job it is required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity.
