Job Summary and Qualifications
The mission and goal of the Employee Health Manager is to ensure that all components of worker’s compensation program are effectively meeting the needs of the injured worker at Kendall Regional Medical Center with the highest degree of responsiveness, preventative preparation and integrity in the course of or arising out of his or her employment.
The functions include oversight of all issues related to worker’s compensation for employees of Kendall Regional Medical Center. In addition, workers’ compensation monitors the functions of our third party administrator. Program responsibilities include providing education, technical assistance and training to department leaders in the areas of workers’ compensation, office ergonomics, injury prevention; ensuring legal compliance with the labor code and OSHA positing and Joint Commission requirements. The Workers Compensation/Employee Health Manager initiates the filing of all claims. Guidance provided to departments regarding the implementation of the Transitional Duty/Return to Work Process. Workers Compensation is also actively involved with Injury/Illness Prevention Initiatives and schedules ergonomic evaluation and Patient Lift Equipment Training and assessments to reduce employee injuries while managing patients.
What qualifications you will need:
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and certification.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- BSN preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge.
Past exposure to human resources, workers compensation, employee health preferred.
This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

Our services include trauma, burn, surgical, women’s and children’s services, behavioral health and diagnostic services. We have two full service free-standing ER facilities.
