Job description
Responsible for the service delivery of the Goodwill Career Center program including assisting clients with job search and providing general resources for ID assistance, etc. Provides and continues supportive services for the Career Center Manager and clients in need of services.

(E) – Essential function of job duties

  • Provides support for Career Center Specialist. (E)
  • Assists and/or provides intake, assessment & training skills development for Career Center clients and
participants. (E)
  • Assists with building partnerships with local agencies and organizations. (E)
  • Helps maintain relationships and is knowledgeable of programs and opportunities with local employers to assist
program participants in securing and maintaining employment
  • Develop an Individualized Employment Plan (IEP) for each client, including goals and objectives to achieve
gainful employment. (E)
  • Assign tasks, offer resources, and connects clients to other organizations in accordance with client’s IEP
recommendations. (E)
  • Document all tasks and services completed with client in agency’s online database. (E)
  • Maintain site data for reporting program numbers. (E)
  • Serves as a community advocate for Goodwill in the Permian Basin (E)
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly.
  • Promotes professionalism inside and outside of the organization.
  • Communicate professionally and positively with co-workers, vendors and others.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
**Knowledge of the Oil Field Industry (Odessa Career Center Only)

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required
  • A Bachelor's degree in a Social Work (San Angelo Career Center Only) Required
QUALIFICATIONS / SPECIFIC SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:
  • Valid Texas Drivers License and good driving record
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Exercise sound judgment and follow-through on assignments independently and as a team player.
  • Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills
  • Strong resume writing skills
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate ability to motivate, train, and effectively relate to individuals who have disabilities or other barriers to employment.
