Oakland Dream Center Job Developer $60,000 – $65,000 per hour

Summary

The Oakland Dream Center is a transitional housing program for returning citizens. Our priority to ensure an aspirational respectful environment that allows men to thrive in their responsibility, reintegration and restorative justice.

Job Summary:

• Supports residents in job searching and placement.
• Establishes and maintains working relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training opportunities for clients.
• Evaluates individual's background, skills, and interest and matches to potential job openings or training programs.
• Coaches and prepares candidate for interview and entry into the workforce.
• Assists residents in the development and enhancements of their resumes and application completion.
• Match applicant skills and experience with employer’s requirement.
• Record and evaluate applicant education, experience, training, knowledge and skills.
• Facilitate employment and other associated group sessions for residents.
• Effective Communication and interpersonal skills

Essential Functions:

• Adheres to centers practices and policies.
• Maintains informed communication by utilizing all forms of technology including email and posted communication, etc.
• Possess good social and communication skills
• Is consistently attentive to residents and gives prompt, courteous service.
• Keeps management informed when problems may interfere with work being completed or resident issues.
• Responds appropriately to inquiries and complaints from residents.
• Makes cold calls to potential employers and explains the benefits and employment support services provided by programs to employers, including addressing employer’s special needs;
• Accommodates changes in workload within the center.
• During light workload situations, seeks out additional tasks/duties to complete.
• Demonstrates flexibility in accepting schedule and work assignments.
• Communicates needs/concerns, etc. to management.
• Host an annual job fair for employers and residents
• Attend job fairs of local organizations and employers.
• Responsibly completes procedures scheduled during the shift without interference to the quality of work.
• Accepts and understands verbal and written instructions
• Demonstrates and maintains good time management skills.
• Projects confidence, honesty and reliability to residents and businesses (owners/managers)
• Proficient in Microsoft office suite (word, excel, PowerPoint)
• Maintains a flexible work schedule in order to meet the needs of the residents.
• Maintains the pulse of the local hiring market and employer needs.
• Maintains accurate logs of resident’s and employer interactions and progress.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills or Other Qualifications:

Required:

• Must have excellent verbal, written communications and reading skills.
• Ability to perform simple calculations by hand or with use of a calculator.
• Must be able to work well with others and perform a variety of tasks under supervision.
• Maintain a personal vehicle and proper automobile insurance coverage for duration of employment.
• Ability to delegate duties and maintain efficient standards of operation.
• 2 – 4 years of previous Sales and or Marketing experience.

Preferred:

• Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or Marketing

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
