POSITION SUMMARY: Clean Efficient Energy Company is a Kansas City-based building consulting company that provides expert resources, education and support to new home builders involved in the construction of new homes all around Kansas City, Lawrence, and Topeka. We are seeking applicants who have a mind for science, an eye for detail, a passion/concern for energy efficiency/environment, excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to drive a company car to and work on construction sites in all weather. Energy Rater Assistants are considered “Energy Rater Candidates”—basically with the right fit, we quickly put you on a training path to becoming a certified Rating Field Inspector (RFI). The training continues with the goal of helping the Rater Assistant become a certified Energy Rater, which is a salaried, non-exempt (qualifies for overtime) position.

We are looking for someone who is able to gather data to create reports which can be clearly communicated to builders. Consistency, accuracy, efficiency, flexibility, patience, and a willingness to learn and say, “I do not know but will find out”, are all qualities that CEEC seeks in an Inspector.

JOB DUTIES:

Assist Raters in Performing Building Inspections– We will train you to deliver accurate and timely inspections.

• Rough Inspections

- Assist with rough inspections and diagnostics including duct leakage testing, insulation and air barrier evaluation, window and framing evaluation, duct work and ventilation quality, etc.

- Maintain accurate and complete data input

- Understand the subtle differences between codes and programs and the rough inspections that accompany each

• Final Inspections

- Develop complete and accurate files and promptly deliver correctly signed report packs to appropriate email distribution lists

Administrative

• Maintain e-mail communication with scheduling as necessary (typically daily)

• Actively monitor and take part in systems that CEEC has created to promote communication within the company

• Interact consistently and often in a professional and respectful manner with all Raters/Auditors, the Scheduling and Admin Team, and CEEC’s client base

• Participate in monthly (or as required) Inspector meetings or training

• Other duties as assigned -- these duties may include but are not limited to:

- Additional diagnostics not performed on a daily basis for energy audits

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Ability to project a positive organizational image to the general public, clients, and the community

• Ability to work independently, and manage multiple priorities

• Aptitude to conceptualize 3D structures and model in google sketchup.

• Ability to understand and interpret information

• Must be able to learn new software programs quickly and efficiently (we will train you in Google Suites and SketchUp)

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND:

• Successful academic performance evidenced by school transcripts.

• Passion for energy conservation and openness to learning applied building science and systems thinking

EDUCATION:

• Minimum - High school education or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree or above is preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
