Our Colocation Engineering (CE) team delivers assessments, designs, on-boarding and integration of Colocation data center capacity for AWS’s fast-growing Data Center fleet. Due to the rapid expansion of AWS colocation footprint, we need a collaborative, organized, and innovative Engineering Program Manager (Engr PM) to work with Colocation Engineering team and internal and external partner teams and manage engineering RFI/RFQs, contractual updates related to technical scopes, and vendor design proposals. Engr PM will ensure adherence to internal review and validation processes in collaboration with Engineering, Business Development and Construction Management teams. Engr PM will be responsible for managing and analyzing facility and room specification data, creating dashboards, obtaining and maintaining documentation and controls, driving consistent quality and accuracy in hand-off packages to internal Engineering and partner teams. Additional duties may include reporting out regional metrics, status reports, doc writing for leadership reviews, supporting planning and deployment of strategic initiatives, making periodic updates to design documentation, implementing design standardization through run-books, developing or enhancing processes for maintaining design documentation, and determining and maintaining associated metrics in alignment with business needs. In this role, the Engr PM will work with a best-in-class group of Engineers to produce engineering documentation and enabling engineers to efficiently and effectively completing their scopes of work for delivering capacity in new or expansion of contracted colocation data centers.
As the Colocation Engineering PM, you will enable automation of data entry and documentation management for interface with partner teams, and development of building construction documents and specifications as a part of a team which operates within 16 geographic regions. Key job responsibilities
- Develop and manage technical RFI and RFQ documentation and communication with vendors • Develop and manage Technical Requirements Checklists, Work Orders, Drawings Packages
- Manage technical specifications for colocation contract work-order and approval documents
- Manage Engr review process for Vendor Design Proposals (VDP) for regional sites, vendors • Collaborate with internal partner teams to manage technical and business approval processes
- Partner with Amazon Global Engineers and Legal to support deployment of AWS IP in Colos
- Manage, maintain and analyze engineering and technical data leveraging internal tooling
- Identify and drive process improvements across the organization for Engineering efficiency
- Partner with engineering, business development, construction and commissioning teams to answer Colocation partner’s requests for technical information
- Develop and manage storage and access to project information for appropriate team members
