We are a continuous casting aluminum rolling mill who established operations in 1984 and located in Fort Lupton Colorado, 35 miles north of downtown Denver. We are the proud owner of a patented casting process that supplies coiled aluminum sheet to the packaging and automotive markets with a broad range of alloys, thicknesses, and coatings. We require your exceptional skills to be responsible for the vision and longevity of our complex foundry and mill equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Job Summary:

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing and managing the company’s comprehensive environmental health and safety program. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager and has two non-exempt direct reports. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leads the development of EHS programs and policies ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state and local rules and regulations.
  • Works with the appropriate management and staff to implement and execute programs.
  • Maintains EHS programs and ensures required activities occur to maintain EHS compliance.
  • Acts as the lead contact with governmental agencies and ensures necessary data for EHS reports is tracked along with timely report submittals.
  • Advises/interacts with departmental safety committees to develop, implement and execute safety culture awareness.
  • Leads regular inspections and audits to identify potential environmental health and safety hazards and/or discrepancies to ensure compliance with all EHS policies, regulatory standards and national codes to develop solutions to issues.
  • Supervises the development and progression of all EHS staff.
  • Facilitates and participates in investigations of incidents, accidents, complaints or problems, (injury, chemical release, near misses, indoor air quality, etc) and recommending changes to current procedures or controls to prevent property loss and/or injury. Tracks all incidents/ accidents/near misses to aid in reducing/preventing future mishaps.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar position within a metals/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient with the use of safety equipment appropriate to areas of responsibility.
  • Understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects for analysis and interpretation of procedures, policies and practices attainable through specific education and/or training programs in a specialty or technical field.
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Software.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug test based on federal law (includes marijuana).

Salary range: $100,000 - $135,000 (Dependent on Qualifications)
