Environmental Quality (EQ) manages and reduces environmental risks and liabilities within the City. It aims to improve air, land, and water quality and to provide sustainable environmental stewardship of natural resources. The Division provides environmental benefits through assessment, policy development, service assurance, and stewardship initiatives for both private sector and municipal operations. The EQ Enterprise Finance & Operations Section has an opening for an EPH Analyst Associate. This position will work as a member of the team responsible for supporting EQ work and processes across different project/program areas and will be focused on supporting the core duties of our Section. This position will require regular in office and field support.
Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Environmental Concerns Response Administration and support
-
Records Management of Environmental Phase 1 requests
-
Assisting with evaluation of analytical data and preparation of reports
-
Entry and review of data entered into program databases
-
Environmental data operations support on program-related content
-
Environmental operations assistance
-
EQ Internship program support in guidance and development
-
Monitoring contract and finance processes in coordination with applicable positions
-
Operations oversight and support of EQ Lab, equipment and assets
-
Project Management support
-
Research into environmental-related topics
-
Support in ensuring project performance metrics in accordance with city, departmental, and divisional goals
-
Emergency Response Coordination and operations administration Support for On-Scene Coordinator and Duty Officer for Environmental Management and Operations Section
-
Ensure efforts are in compliance with all applicable objectives, pertinent laws, rules and regulations.

Work across teams/sections with diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals
-
Fully integrate your work, almost daily, with the work of teammates on various program/projects
-
Along with all department staff, this position will actively participate on an emergency preparedness and response team to support DDPHE’s responsibilities outlined in the City’s Emergency Operations Plan. This may require being ‘on-call’ from time to time to help respond to emergencies. Additional training commensurate with assigned duties will be provided.

Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, or in a related field based on a specific position.

Experience Requirement: One (1) year of professional experience conducting research and analysis on a variety of environmental or public health issues or conducting environmental or public health inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
-
Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.

License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
