The Job You Will Perform:
The EPDL is responsible for the safety, integrity, and reliability of the Mill's Electrical Power Distribution (EPD) system. This includes power transmission lines, circuit breakers, transformers, relays, etc. The EPDL leads improvement efforts and ensures sustainable systems and processes are in place. The EPDL stays current and is qualified and knowledgeable on EPD Policies, Specifications, and Guidelines. The EPDL is responsible to ensure that all EPD equipment has proper maintenance strategy; developed and implemented, to prevent failures and ensure both safe and reliable operation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership that ensures EPD systems safety, asset integrity, and reliable operation
- Responsible for IP Policy (Orange Book) Compliance in EPD
- Responsible to manage Gap Analysis and Improvement Plan against Policy
- Ensures electrical PM inspections are planned, conducted, and documented at the proper frequency
- Communicates deficiencies to the appropriate personnel if electrical PMs are not in compliance with IP policy requirements.
- Develops Policy Exemptions Forms to Technology for Review
- Develops and maintains an EPD annual switchgear maintenance budget.
- Manages EPD maintenance spending to budget.
- Primary contact for the mill’s power supply company (PSO), and schedules annual reviews with PSO.
- Maintains critical equipment obsolescence plans and communicates with reliability and capital mangers
- Develops and maintains productive relationships with mill teams, IP subject matter experts and other people or organizations that may contribute to the achievement of EPD objectives.
- Maintains Mill EPD documents such as switching orders and One-Line drawings
- Owner of the EasyPower database.
- Participates in the IP EPD Champions group.
- Collaborates with Maintenance High Voltage Specialists.
- Implements capital and regulatory projects to meet safety, intended functions, schedule, and budget.
- Stays current on EPD Policies, Specifications, and Guidelines as introduced by IP Technology.
The Skills You Will Bring:
A bachelor degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering is preferred or 5+ years’ experience in a maintenance/reliability function. Paper mill experience is preferred.
