Equipment Van Driver

What You'll be Doing
Do you have a passion for outdoors? Do you love helping set someone up for success? In this role, position is responsible for setting up and breaking down remote Pop-up Tents and all required Toll Collector equipment and supplies. This position is essentially in an outdoor work environment, subject to weather conditions. Driving the company provided vehicle safely and obeying all traffic rules is of the primary importance. Crossing traffic lanes safely requires good mobility, vision and hearing to be alert to traffic conditions. This work impacts the traveling public and as such requires courtesy, efficiency, and professionalism at all times. In addition, cooperation and teamwork with fellow employees assisting with Toll Collection duties is required to deliver excellent customer service to our patrons
You'll report to the Onsite Manager. We're looking for an Equipment Van Driver to welcome and excite new hires as they start their new careers.
During a Typical Day, You'll
- Accurate use of checklist to take out and return equipment.
- Properly clean and maintain delivery van and all equipment as directed.
- Restocking of all equipment and ticket boxes, along with purchasing of supplies (water, paper towels, etc.) as directed.
- Other office duties or "downtime" chores/cleaning as directed.
- Respond to radio calls to assist Toll Collectors or Toll Supervisors as needed.
- Following directions to vary route throughout day as directed.
- Proficiently operate the Department's toll collection equipment according to procedure.
- Accurately classify vehicles and collect proper toll amounts from motorists traveling through a toll lane.
- Accurately make change for various U.S. bill denominations in a timely manner, issue receipts to motorists and complete Daily Activity Log as required.
- Accurately complete operational reports reflecting toll lane activity. At end of shift, balance cash and prepare accurate cash deposits on monies collected and tickets received/sold.
- Speak and understand English proficiently to effectively communicate with motorists and respond to inquiries in a courteous, professional and helpful manner.
- Provides on the job training to new hired toll collectors and existing employees when needed.
What You Bring to the Role
- Willing to be available to work either Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays but always willing to work with scheduled days and holidays at least until September 1st. Shift is 5:30am to 5:30pm with a half hour lunch.
- Ability to drive cargo van or other delivery vehicle.
- Excellent driving skills to navigate narrow ramps and sand conditions.
- Keen attention to all traffic rules and awareness while driving.
- Successfully pass English, math, cash calculation, customer service tests.
- Required to possess and maintain a current/valid Florida driver's license.
- Ability to handle high traffic volume quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to safely walk across toll lanes and climb/descend stairs while carrying up to 50 pounds. As a condition of employment, you must have the ability to safely walk across toll lanes while fully elevating and extending arm closest to oncoming traffic to 'shoulder blade height' in a 'stop' motion (arm extended with palm held out) to signal oncoming traffic, and while carrying work related items (i.e. tour funds, cash draw, ticket box, safety related items, etc.. .) in the other arm.
- Ability to walk for long periods in the sun and other extreme weather conditions while selling tickets walking in a mobile capacity, wearing POS equipment.
- Ability to work from Toll Booth, or outdoor 'Pop Up" tent locations either on the beach or at remote events.
- Ability to independently move signage, traffic cones, and open/close gates as required.
- Ability to determine vehicle classification by visual inspection.
- Ability to handle money and make change.
- Ability to determine correct tolls based on a numerical table provided. (manual collections)
- Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
- Interpersonal communication skills.
- Cash handling experience on a computerized system.

Physical Ability
- Ability to communicate orally with management, co-workers, and customers is crucial.
- Standing for extended periods is common.
- Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to interact with customers and traffic lane safety.
- Heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 50 lbs. is required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines.
Sensory Requirements
- Some tasks require oral communications ability and visual perception and discrimination.
Environmental Factors
- The job is performed outdoors. Activities include extended periods of standing in hot sun/heat/cold or inclement weather conditions and extensive work at a hand held POS system and/or calculator.
